Autism is a neurological difference characterized by unique ways of processing sensory information, communicating, and experiencing the world. Autistic individuals often have deep interests, strong pattern recognition, and direct communication styles.

How we support:

We support autistic children by honoring their communication style, respecting sensory needs, following their interests in therapy, and building skills that are meaningful to them and their families.

ADHD involves differences in attention regulation, activity levels, and impulse control. People with ADHD often have high energy, creativity, and the ability to hyperfocus on engaging activities.

How we support:

OCD involves intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors that can cause distress. With support, children with OCD can develop coping strategies and reduce the impact of these experiences on daily life.

How we support:

PDA is an autism profile characterized by an anxiety-driven need to avoid everyday demands and expectations. Children with PDA often do well with autonomy, negotiation, and indirect approaches.

How we support:

We use low-demand, relationship-based approaches with children who have PDA. We prioritize collaboration over compliance, offer choices, use indirect language, and build trust before making requests.

ODD involves patterns of angry, irritable mood and defiant behavior. Often, these behaviors stem from underlying difficulties with emotional regulation, unmet needs, or challenging environments.

How we support:

Apraxia involves motor planning differences that affect speech (childhood apraxia of speech) or other movements. Children with apraxia often understand much more than they can express.

How we support:
